Business wise I've never ever had an issue with a car not being available as long as I've had a reservation. Since most of the alleged damage was to what they call "hidden" (out of view - not the body of the vehicle itself) parts, he said it could have happened with the previous driver(s) or during transit (since they whisked it away so fast)  and I, and others, wouldn't have noticed it when I did the initial walk around at the time of rental because they were not "visible damages" most people would notice. Nearly two months later,  I received a damage letter with "photos" of the alleged damage, I couldn't see any damages! On the other hand, the young man Charlie who picked us up was excellent. However, for a company that has as their subtitle "the company that picks you up", they sure don't make that a very reliable service. We hope to see you again soon.
